Maximus Yeo Jun Wu is a dedicated and versatile piano instructor with a strong foundation in both performance and music theory.
Throughout his career, Maximus has earned prestigious accolades. His achievements include:
Gold Award in solo piano at the 7th Singapore Performers' Festival and Chamber Music Competition,
Gold Award in solo piano at the 8th Singapore Performers' Festival and Chamber Music Competition,
Bronze Award in the Artist Category at the 3rd Singapore International Music Competition
During his National Service, Maximus served as a pianist for the Diatonics Department of the Music & Drama Company. He performed at numerous high-profile events, including those attended by local ministers, foreign delegates, and senior military officials.
His performances include solo pieces, duets, trios, string quartets, and collaborations with Chinese instrumentalists. Notable experiences include performing at the Istana for President Tharman’s swearing-in ceremony in September 2023, and at the Music and Drama Company’s first Homegrown Live at OCBC Square in September 2024. He also collaborated with a fusion ensemble combining Western instruments (violin, viola, and piano) with Chinese instruments (erhu and sheng).
As an instructor, Maximus is passionate about nurturing students of all levels. He tailors his lessons to individual goals - whether preparing for graded exams, improving technique, or exploring various musical genres. With a teaching philosophy that balances technical mastery with expressive artistry, he helps students not only build their skills but also develop a lifelong love for music.
